Celebrated Irish MMA champion Conor McGregor will make his film debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. The athlete and businessman will be making his Hollywood debut, starring in the remake of “Road House”, a famous 80s film with Patrick Swayze.
It’s official: there will indeed be a remake of the famous Road House movie! Known for being one of Patrick Swayze‘s first hits, the film is set to be brought to the screen once again, with a stellar cast… and will be produced by Amazon!
Jake Gyllenhaal will play the lead role, while Conor McGregor is also expected to play a major role in the plot.
The pitch shouldn’t really differ from the original film.
It follows the story of a former UFC fighter (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) who decides to take a job as a bouncer at a Florida truck stop. He longs for a quiet life, but soon discovers that this tropical paradise falls far short of his expectations!
This remake will be a unique opportunity for McGregor to take his first steps in Hollywood. According to numerous sources, this isn’t the first time the Irish champion has been offered a role… but McGregor regularly turned down offers, waiting for the right opportunity.
