Paul Mescal’s career began at an early age, when he joined a youth theater group in Dublin and began appearing in school productions.
He then made his debut in the TV series The Clinic, followed by a recurring role in the TV series The Big Fish Off.
He made his film debut in Little Blue Pill, then appeared in Killing Ground and Little Mix, as well as in the TV series The Secret Life of Kids. He also guest-starred in the TV series The Young Offenders and appeared in the TV series Little Women, as well as in the film adaptation of the classic novel The Secret Garden, in which he played Colin Craven.
Paul Mescal made a name for himself in Ireland and was hired to play the lead in Normal People. This critically acclaimed mini-series is based on Sally Rooney’s award-winning novel.
His portrayal of Connell, a young man in a complicated relationship with Marianne, a student at his high school. It’s a role that has earned him some of the best reviews of his career, and is now opening the door to major new projects!
