DIAGEO has just unveiled its latest creation: a new “full-bodied” Guinness beer with no less than 10% alcohol.
This new beer from the Guinness brewery is called “Guinness Stock Ale”, and will unfortunately only be available on the American market. This brand-new beverage is said to be a blend of 2 of the brewery’s other beers: Guinness Barleywine and Guinness Imperial Stout. It is then aged in Bourbon casks.
It was created at the brand-new Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, USA.
If this new drink is already creating interest, it is described by DIAGEO as a beer with notes of chocolate, hazelnuts, raisins, roasted barley and fruit. It will only be sold in bottles from November 15 in American supermarkets…
As for discovering it in Europe, that will be a different kettle of fish. Guinness is currently trying to conquer the US market with a series of new beers. These were created to better suit the tastes of the American population. So it would be surprising to see it appearing in Irish pubs in the next few months… But who knows?
