Netflix is used to thinking big. And the company is no exception, seeking over 1,000 extras to take part in crowds and battle scenes. A golden opportunity for fans of the original series to make their mark on the TV show!

The experience promises to be unforgettable, and Netflix already intends to go all out, promising even more impressive scenes than the original series. Major technical resources will be mobilized, and over 1,000 costumes will be made for the occasion… Enough to turn you into a Viking for a day, and tour Ireland!

In its advert, Netflix is said to be looking for a variety of profiles Here’s a look at its advert:

We’re looking for men and women of all ethnic backgrounds, slim, medium to large build, athletic types, long and/or short hair. We’re also looking for men and women who are bald, or have naturally colored hair (or hair that could be dyed for the shoot), without beards, or with full-length, knee-length beards. Grunge and punk looks accepted. We are also looking for amputees and people with crooked or missing teeth.

It’s a pretty broad brief, and one that will appeal to even the biggest fans of the Vikings series. You’ll be able to dive right into the heart of a blockbuster production… filmed in Ireland, no less!

As a reminder, the show is mostly shot in Ireland, in the Wicklow region, near Lough Tay, a superb Irish lake, also known for belonging to the Guinness family, owners of the Irish dark beer of the same name! The series has always stood out for its extraordinary landscapes and special effects.
