Kilbeggan whiskey is an Irish whiskey produced in County Westmeath. This is an Irish blend distilled since 1757 in the former Locke’s Distillery. Although the latter has been closed since the 1950s, this whiskey is distilled at Cooley Distillery, then aged at Kilbeggan Distillery.

Kilbeggan Whiskey

An Irish blend aged in oak barrels

Kilbeggan whiskey is produced at Cooley Distillery in County Louth, but is aged slowly for many years in oak casks at Kilbeggan Distillery.

Kilbeggan whiskey is produced by double distillation, instead of the traditional three. The taste is slightly sweet on the palate, with strong notes of caramelized malt and oak.

Kilbeggan is served in most good Irish pubs, and can also be found in local shops. In France, this whiskey is rather popular and can be found in cellars, supermarkets and specialist retailers.
