A pleasant surprise for Dublin airport users this morning. It would appear that the new measures introduced by the DAA have paid off, helping to keep passenger traffic flowing smoothly and optimizing the efficiency of the security screening services. Passengers at Dublin Airport were pleasantly surprised this morning to see a marked improvement in airport services. Far from the chaos that reigned last weekend (which led to queues right up to the airport’s sidewalks, and caused almost 1,000 passengers to miss their flights), it would appear that the airport has returned to normal.
Serenity and efficiency seem to have returned to Dublin Airport. Current wait times for security at Terminal 1 are five minutes and 10 minutes for Terminal 2, according to the airport website.
One Twitter user noticed a big difference and was keen to express it:
“I got through Terminal 1 security in exactly five minutes. What a difference from the last few days!”
Another person also said:
I crossed Dublin airport in 40 minutes, including security. The staff are great.
This is good news, especially as Dublin airport is set for a very busy weekend: the airport is expecting around 250,000 passengers this weekend, with Monday June 6 being a public holiday in Ireland. Airport staff have already made their arrangements, and know they won’t have the right to make any mistakes. The Irish government also put pressure on the airport to ensure that the chaos of the previous weekend was not repeated.
