Dublin has just taken an important step. The city has just banned private vehicles from College Green. A solution designed to ease traffic congestion in the city center, and reduce CO2 emissions within the city limits.

Dublin rethinks its transport solutions

Buses are the only vehicles allowed on College Green

It’s time for a change in Dublin. As of May 29, 2023, traffic rules are changing, and the College Green district is becoming essentially reserved for public transport. As a result, no private cars are allowed on the roads.

To compensate for this, a bus lane has been specially laid out, enabling users to use public transport. This 24-hour service should make getting around easier and put an end to the many traffic jams in the area.

Users are asked to park their vehicles outside the neighborhood, and to opt for eco-friendly modes of transport, whether by bus, bike or on foot!

For the time being, Dubliners are satisfied with the changes, believing them to be a minor inconvenience compared with the benefits of relieving congestion in the city center.
