Dublin is decked out in Christmas decorations, and it’s fabulous!
Temple Bar s'est paré de ses décorations de Noël !

That’s it: we’re off! Dublin is already decked out with its first Christmas decorations, and the streets are now magical! Department stores, emblematic districts… The whole of Dublin becomes magical after dark! Magnificent decorations that might just make you want to celebrate Christmas right there!

From Temple Bar to department stores…

When garlands of lights take over Dublin…

Every Christmas, it’s the same thing: it’s up to the neighborhoods and stores to come up with the best holiday decorations! The Temple Bar district opened the ball by adorning its most emblematic Irish pub with a wall-mounted fir tree, and incredible garlands.

Everywhere, from Grafton Street to O’Connell Street, the streets were lit up with a thousand colors. Blue, green, red and yellow… The magic of the festive season seems to take hold of the capital, plunging the inhabitants into a family atmosphere, conducive to dreams and enchantment. (Because, let’s not forget, the Irish love Christmas passionately, and like to do more and more at the end of each year!)

But that’s not all. Department stores are also getting in on the act. And then it’s all downhill from there.

Every year, the giant “Arnotts” (on Henry Street) amazes young and old with its ever-expanding window displays and decorations! And for 2022, the commercial giant has literally transformed its showcase into a vibrant tribute to Christmas. Rows of luminous Christmas trees, colorful garlands, Santa Claus on display… It’s all light and magic! And this year, Arnotts is betting on the theme of “Joy”! Jugglers, clowns, prestidigitation… It’s time for a festive Christmas, focused on the joy of being together!

In short: something to enchant young and old alike, and pass on the magic of the festive season!

And other chains are following suit! Even the St Stephen’s Green shopping center got into the spirit, with a host of grandiose decorations! It sings, it flashes and it amazes!

You’ve guessed it: the magic of Christmas is literally taking over Dublin. It’s the perfect opportunity for Dubliners to get back into the swing of things after a tough year marked by Covid-19.

This year, the Irish should be able to enjoy a normal Christmas. Although Covid-19 is still present and barrier measures are still required, the country’s vaccination rate seems to be keeping the epidemic under control.

The situation is under control, which should even encourage travellers to celebrate Christmas in Ireland! Dublin has repeatedly been named one of Europe’s best cities in which to celebrate the festive season! It has to be said that the Irish don’t mess around with this holiday, and know how to enjoy it like nowhere else!

Don’t hesitate to visit us at the end of the year: you’ll have an unforgettable Christmas!
