In the west of County Wicklow, near the Blessington Lakes, a manor house welcomes musicians for several days as they share their repertoire. The West Wicklow Chamber Music Festival offers a cultural getaway where being close to the artists is part of the experience.
The festival gives pride of place to chamber music, performed by ensembles in which each instrument retains its own voice. Its winter edition, the Winter Weekend, takes place at the Manor House at Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort, near Blessington.
The programme is not confined to a single tradition: in 2026, it brings together piano, a chamber music trio and traditional Irish singing. It is a way to discover another side of Wicklow, beyond its scenic routes.
Pianists Fiachra Garvey and Mishka Rushdie Momen open the weekend. The Paddington Trio is also on the bill, while Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta bring their voices and musical heritage to the programme.
A concert dedicated to young talent and a sean-nós singing workshop round off the events announced. For each offering, see the description and booking conditions on the official website.
Tulfarris is located near Blessington and its lakes. If you are travelling without a car, check the transport options to the precise concert venue before booking. Wicklow’s mountains and villages invite you to extend your stay, taking November’s weather conditions into account.
