The Beacon of Hope – infomatique cc
The Beacon of Hope is signed by artist Andy Scott. Its creation and installation made it one of the most expensive works in Belfast: no less than £300,000!
The sculpture was crafted in stainless steel and bronze, and took the artist over 6 years to complete!
If you come across it, you’ll see that this sculpture depicts a woman standing on the World, holding a ring at arm’s length. According to the sculptor, this ring symbolizes a “ring of thanksgiving”, and the world beneath its feet “the universal philosophy of peace”.
A lovely message, making it one of the most emblematic sculptures in Belfast’s history!
