Comber Potatoes are potatoes from Northern Ireland. They are produced to the east and south of Belfast and have a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) label, giving them official status as a regional product.
The name Comber refers to a Northern Irish village in the heart of the potato-growing area.
Combers (also known as “New Season Comber Potatoes”) are small tubers no bigger than 10 cm. Oval in shape, they have a slightly sweet taste with a hint of hazelnut.
Easy to work with, its flesh can be cooked in many different ways: pan-fried, browned, fried, boiled or steamed. Many of Northern Ireland’s gourmet chefs use them for their dishes. A sure sign of quality!
