It’s official: Ireland will be the next featured country at the Lorient Interceltic Festival! From August 4 to 13, 2023, the famous Breton festival, which celebrates Celtic nations, will highlight the renowned Emerald Isle with its heritage, culture, and of course, its music!

The Lorient Festival Already Reveals the 2023 Theme

For the Upcoming Festival, the City of Lorient Will Celebrate Ireland!

The tireless Lorient Festival has just wrapped up its 2022 edition, and preparations for 2023 are already underway. The team has just announced the exciting news: 2023 will be dedicated to Ireland!

This is a highly anticipated event, especially since Ireland hasn’t been the spotlight country since 2014!

As a reminder, Lorient is twinned with Galway in Ireland. The two cities maintain close cultural ties and ongoing exchanges… It was only natural for the festival to reconnect with the Green Isle by offering a vibrant Irish program!

The event will take place in 2023 and is expected to bring together some of Ireland’s most iconic artists! In the past, the festival has hosted big names like Sharon Shannon, Dervish, The Corrs, and many more!

While U2 might not be officially on the lineup, there are whispers that Bono’s son, Elijah Hewson, who plays in the band Inhaler, could be invited to perform for the occasion! Nothing is confirmed yet: the main work is still ahead, but one thing is certain—2023 in Lorient will be truly Irish!
