The news broke this summer: Ireland has been voted “Europe’s best travel destination” for 2019. The prize was awarded at the Group Travel Awards held in London in early July.

Ireland has thus become Europe’s No. 1 tourist destination for the 3rd time running. It beat Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. A fine score, repeated for the third time, which makes Ireland the most attractive country of the year in terms of travel and tourism.

It has to be said that its iconic landscapes, the warm welcome of its people, and the many tourist attractions available in Ireland weighed heavily in the balance. The Guinness Storehouse was named one of Europe’s top tourist destinations, followed by the Belfast Titanic Experience, ranked 6th.

As a result, the country welcomes over 10 million tourists every year to enjoy the country, its wild landscapes, its food and its activities. And this number is growing all the time: tourism professionals are predicting a real boom in Irish tourism in the years to come.

One thing’s for sure: Ireland is a destination on the rise! So whether it’s for a weekend or a longer stay, it would be a shame not to seize the opportunity and organize a little trip to Ireland!
