It’s a real tradition in Ireland. Every year, the famous “Irish Farmer Calendar” comes out, featuring the year’s most beautiful Irish farmers in enticing poses. Fans of the Irish hunk got their first glimpse of the upcoming 2019 calendar. And they weren’t disappointed!
For the record, this calendar was launched in 2010 by Irishman Ciaran Ryan after he was made redundant from his job. The concept was simple: take photos of handsome Irish farmers on their farms, with a seductive, uninhibited attitude and a touch of humor. The aim was then to sell the calendar and donate the profits to charity.
The idea initially amused the public, but eventually gained worldwide renown, even reaching the United States, where a book dedicated to the phenomenon was published!
Since then, the calendar has become a household name in Ireland, with hundreds of Irish farmers applying to be included in the next edition.
And the 2019 edition promises to be a memorable one! You’ll find farmers from all over Ireland, from Kilkenny, Tipperary, Wexford, Mayo and, of course, Dublin!
All in friendly, offbeat poses, alongside their sheep, chickens, pigs and more.
The calendar should be available within the next few months, for an advertised price of €10.99. The funds raised will then be donated to the Bóthar association, which has been sending Irish cattle to developing countries since 1991.
