Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse Museum has just launched a very special service. The panoramic bar at the top of the building offers you a new kind of pint of Guinness… with your portrait printed in the foam!
As you may have gathered, the establishment offers you nothing less than to drink your face off! An unusual experience, which comes at a price: €6.50 extra to use a photo of yourself, and “print” it on the creamy cap of the famous dark beer. The result is stunning, and a little strange too…
But how do they achieve such a realistic result? To achieve this, the company uses a special malt extract that enables it to draw patterns in the foam, without the malt ending up at the bottom of the pint.
The result is an accurate portrait that’s astonishingly realistic!
Guinness, always keen to get people talking about its beer, has launched this new service as part of an operation called “STOUTie”. These very special Guinnesses are currently only available at the Guinness Storehouse… But we’re willing to bet that the system could spread to pubs if it succeeds!
All that’s left is to see if you’re prepared to fork out €6.50 on top of the price of a normal pint for this… slightly self-centred experience!
