It’s the most unusual news of the moment. Many Dubliners and tourists have caught a glimpse of U2’s Bono in Dublin this week. It was spotted strolling through the Temple Bar district, creating interest and curiosity among passers-by. Many viral videos have circulated on the web on this subject… But we’d rather tell you: no, it wasn’t Bono… But a look-alike!
It didn’t take long for Pavel Sfera to get noticed. This Californian, freshly arrived in Ireland for the vacations, caught everyone’s attention as he strolled nonchalantly through Dublin’s Temple Bar district this week.
It has to be said that the man, considered to be a look-alike, didn’t hesitate to walk around, displaying the same distinctive signs as the famous Irish singer. Colored glasses, hair slicked back, rings on hands and black clothes… The resemblance could be uncanny, with this rock’n’roll side…
But the deception didn’t last long:
At first they think I’m Bono, then when they get closer and hear my American accent, they realize I’m not, so they say, ‘hey, you must be Bono’s half-brother. said an amused Pavel.
And let’s face it: the American had a lot of fun wandering the streets of Dublin! As soon as he started walking, the horns started honking. People greeted him from all sides, while some filmed him or asked for a selfie.
The patient American then took the time to explain that, although he looked like Bono, he certainly wasn’t him… and by no means a possible half-brother.
In any case, the rather comical scene had the merit of amusing the Dubliners and tourists strolling by. A somewhat surreal scene, but one which, after all, seemed coherent… Indeed, the real Bono has already been spotted on the streets of the Irish capital. He had even been caught playing music in the street like the buskers!
