The Immortal Man… a major film that needs a theatrical release

The culmination of years of work

Launching The Immortal Man on the Netflix platform? Steven Knight has been very clear on the subject… and it’s news that will delight aficionados of the series!

As far as the director is concerned, The Immortal Man will make its debut in theaters. Firstly, because the film heralds a real change of format. Forget 55-minute episodes: this feature-length film heralds a real break with the original genre… A break that has necessitated a paradigm shift in the narrative, and a new way of telling it.

I really want Peaky Blinders fans, who played a big part in this story, to all watch it together in one place. The communication has been entirely virtual, but I want it to happen in cinemas so that people can sit together and watch what happens,” said Steven Knight.

The film, directed by Tom Harper, was a 4-handed collaboration between Harper and Steven Knight, the man behind the series.

The film will tell the story of the Peaky Blinders gang and Thomas Shelby in the context of the Second World War.

It’s going to be an explosive chapter in the history of Peaky Blinders. No holds barred. They’re in the middle of a war,” said Steven Knight.

The film was completed last December. As for the cast, Ireland’s Cillian Murphy has reprised his role as Tom Shelby. He was joined by key characters such as Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, Rebecca Ferguson and Stephen Graham.
