Riverdance is on Netflix!
Whatever your age, whether you’re young or old: the animated adaptation of Riverdance will provide you with a lovely moment of escape! The story alone is enough to make you dream:
Keegan is a young Irish boy living in a small coastal village. He was raised by his grandparents, both lighthouse keepers. Unfortunately, when his grandfather dies, Keegan is faced with grief and uncertainty… Charged with taking back the lighthouse, he fails in his duty, and exposes Ireland to a terrible curse: he allows an evil hunter to hunt magical deer… This can have terrible consequences for the country’s rivers!
With his Spanish friend Moya, he’ll do everything in his power to make up for his mistake, learning to Irish dance, playing hurling, befriending mahic creatures… and mourning all the while!
The promise is tantalizing, with many references to Irish culture. A typical lighthouse, a colorful traditional village, a population living to the rhythm of music and dance… All set in enchanting, authentic landscapes, with waterfalls, dolmens, moorland and meadows dotted with endearing sheep!
In less than 5 minutes, you’ll be plunged into the heart of the Gaelic lands, inspired to travel and dance the Irish way!
The film is magical and very well made. Lots of humor and finesse, giving it a pleasant pace and a well-crafted narrative. The drawings are enchanting and captivating. Riverdance has been dubbed by some of the biggest names on the Irish scene, including Pierce Brosnan and Brendan Gleeson– international tenors! The French version is also very well done. It doesn’t take long to immerse yourself in the film’s Irish universe!
We look forward to seeing you on Netflix. We had a great time, and all we wanted to do was attend a show by the Riverdance troupe and plan a future trip to Ireland!
