Ryanair has just announced that it will soon be opening seven new routes to Cork. The project is set to revitalize Cork airport and boost air traffic, which has been at a low ebb since the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Irish city prepares to welcome many travellers this year

It’s news that has pleased everyone. Firstly to travellers, but also to Cork airport and Ryanair itself. The opening of 7 new flights to Cork is above all a symbol of the end of the pandemic: Ryanair intends to relaunch itself and reinvest in promising projects. For the low-cost airline, 2022 will see a worldwide increase in air traffic of over 750% compared with 2021!

The new lines will serve :

  • Alghero (Sardinia),
  • Birmingham,
  • Edinburgh,
  • Manchester,
  • Pisa,
  • Valencia (Spain)
  • and Venice.

These new flights will bring Cork airport’s capacity to over 25 destinations in all!

The project will create more than 30 local jobs, as well as boosting local tourism in Ireland. The project was welcomed by Ireland’s tourism industry, which was eager to get back to business as usual.
