One of the highlights of Saint Patrick’s Day 2022 is the return of the Great Dublin Parade! The event will take place on the streets of the Irish capital on March 17, and already promises to be grandiose! Gigantic floats, musicians, dancers… Thousands of artists are set to put on a show as they parade down O’Connell Street in an incredible atmosphere!

In fact, the organizers have taken the gamble of making the parade more spectacular than previous editions: a way of opening the festivities by brushing aside the last two years of Covid, which forced them to cancel everything!

For those who can’t make the trip to Dublin, the show will be transmitted live on www.stpatricksfestival.ie.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Connexion” (“Naisc” in Irish Gaelic). It will enable the organizers to celebrate Irish arts, culture and heritage, and invite the world to reconnect with Dublin after two years without a festival in the capital.

It will be a “historic celebration”, described as the biggest and most ambitious yet!

Among the new features, the opening night will be launched by artist Lyra and pop singer Soulé. It’s the perfect way to open the festival and get you in the mood to dance!

The festival will also be held at the Irish National Museum, in the Collins Barracks building, home of the Decorative Arts & History Museum. The site will host an urban festival open day and night, from March 16 to 20!

Also on Friday, we’ll be welcoming the famous Damien Dempsey on stage, a renowned Irish musician and singer, known for his style fusing traditional Irish music with more modern inspirations! He will be joined by Adam Mohamed and other as yet undisclosed guests.

Dublin will also play host to the Irish Food and Craft Village, a space dedicated to Irish craftsmanship, arts and traditional Irish know-how. A unique venue, with sales stands and areas to relax and unwind between concerts!

And don’t forget the street entertainment: Saint Patrick’s Day is also celebrated in pubs and restaurants! Crowded streets, beer, music and dancing! In short: a true concentrate of Irish conviviality!

A program where travellers from all over the world are invited to join the party!

Anna McGowan, Acting Director of the St Patrick’s Festival, was proud of her program:

Ireland’s finest artists have come together to present a spectacular program of events. It’s the biggest and most exciting program we’ve ever produced! Hundreds of artists, arts workers and creators from all over the country will present five unforgettable days! “she declared.

And foreign travellers are of course welcome! In fact, the Republic of Ireland is planning to welcome foreign tourists for this superb celebration! They will only be required to obtain a health pass on arrival in the country, as all other restrictions have recently been lifted. Only the question of the mask remains unanswered!
