Ireland has a wealth of caves and underground galleries of unsuspected beauty. From small underground networks to gigantic caves dotted with stalactites, Ireland’s geological wealth makes it a popular destination for caving enthusiasts. And with good reason! There are more than a dozen remarkable sites, including :

Prices vary from site to site, but range from €20 to €30 per person. Ireland’s caving clubs provide the essential equipment, and then guide you throughout the visit.

A sport open to all!

Unless you suffer from claustrophobia, caving is a sport accessible to all. However, you must never go it alone, and always have an instructor accompany you into the heart of the Irish caves and their network of underground galleries. It’s easy to get lost!

Make sure you bring clothes that don’t mind getting dirty (caving is a pretty messy sport, to say the least!), as well as warm clothes (it’s a bit chilly down there!). As for the rest, the caving clubs will provide the rest of the equipment!
