Dublin Bus services most of the city’s main roads, as well as its suburbs. So you won’t have too much trouble finding a bus stop close to where you’ll be…
Depending on the time of day or night, you can take different buses belonging to the company.
Each bus has its own routes and timetables, so make sure you choose the right one… Here are the different Dublin Bus routes you can take during your stay:
AirLinks are buses that mainly connect Dublin International Airport and its stations with Dublin city center. The route is direct, taking in routes 747 and 748 to get you to the city in under 25 minutes. The buses are spacious and specially equipped for travelers with large items of luggage, and their shuttles are particularly regular to enable passengers to reach their planes/train in optimum conditions…
Prices are higher: €6 per person, and €3 for children.
NiteLinks are night buses that run from 0.20 to 4.20 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays… These practical buses prevent over-enthusiasts from getting behind the wheel and causing accidents. These buses are quite well-equipped and comfortable, and efficiently connect all the city’s hotspots.
The fare is expensive: expect to pay €5 per trip…
You’re running out of time and want to get to your destination on time? Xpresso Buses can get you to your destination in record time. These buses are express lines with a limited number of stops, widely used at peak times (they only operate in the mornings and evenings, at the busiest times)… They’ll let you get around the city efficiently without fear of excessive traffic jams.
Price: €4 per trip.
Dublin Bus operates Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 11.20 p.m… After this time, a night bus service called “Nitelink” runs from 00.20 to 4.20 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
As for punctuality, the shuttles are not always on time, and require a little patience when traffic is at its most congested… We recommend, however, that you always get to the bus stop early, and stop the desired bus with a gentle wave, to make sure the driver has seen you.
As with all public transport, fares vary according to the destination station you wish to reach. For customers wishing to take the bus several times during their stay, there are several options available:
There are several ways to purchase these tickets:
If you choose the third option, you’ll need to pay the exact amount by machine. Once payment has been made, the driver will print out your ticket and give it to you. If the driver owes you any change, a paper is printed so you can get your money back by going to the Dublin Bus center…
However, if you’re over 65, we’ll generously donate all your journeys…
