Le Luas

Le Luas

Le Luas - William Murphy - cc

Luas (meaning “speed” in Irish) is the name of Dublin’s tramway. Ideal for fast downtown journeys, this tramway is another alternative to buses and DART… With prices equivalent to those of the capital’s buses, the Luas has been serving over 90,000 passengers a day in the whole of Dublin since 2004, helping to relieve the heavy demand for public transport…

Take the Luas

Stations served by the Luas

The Luas is made up of 2 distinct lines:

  • The Green Line: linking Sandy Ford to St Stephen’s Green over a total distance of 22 minutes, with 13 stops.
  • and the Red Line, which runs from Tallaght to Connolly Station in 43 minutes, serving 23 stops.

Each line is served between once and twice an hour, and is more punctual than the city buses. The routes are particularly fast, and the stations are strategically located to enable you to reach the main points of Dublin without having to walk too far…
