The streets of Las Vegas were abuzz with activity on Saturday. The famous Irish rock band U2 took advantage of their arrival in town to unveil their brand new song: “Atomic City”. A song entirely dedicated to Las Vegas, and which was performed on the outskirts of the Plaza Hotel.

A sensational U2 promo stunt

Bono and his musicians pulled out all the stops this Saturday, playing a concert at the foot of the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. A unique opportunity for them to promote their concert series, which will be held here in town, at the MSG Sphere, between September 29 and December 16.

Bono and his band also took advantage of the open-air concert to unveil their new track: Atomic City.

The performance not only delighted passers-by, but was also captured from every angle by a host of cameras. We can expect a video clip in the next few weeks: you can bet on it!

Big surprise: Larry Mullen Jr, the drummer, made a remarkable appearance despite his back injury. For future shows, he will be replaced on drums by Bram Van Den Berg.

Nevertheless, the Irish drummer insisted on being present for this special moment.

And this concert was far from just a concert. Bono was in top form vocally, and The Edge, the indefatigable Irish guitar hero, gave us an air guitar worthy of the name during his solo.

The chorus, meanwhile, is heady and punchy. It could well become an anthem among the band’s die-hard fans.

No new album has yet been announced. But one thing’s for sure: the Las Vegas tour is already shaping up to be a rock’n’roll extravaganza! It could mark a real revival for U2, with the band announcing a rockier-than-ever comeback, with a return to musical basics!
