3.40/5 (48 votes)Avoca (“Abhóca” in Gaelic) is a village in Ireland located in County Wicklow. Built on the banks of the river of the same name, Avoca is primarily known for its tourist appeal, as well as its incomparable craftsmanship in fabrics and tweed.
Avoca is a small, welcoming village of the kind we love. Here, all the residents know one another and share good humour and a friendly atmosphere.
The village is visited every year by thousands of tourists, who come to discover the famous “Avoca Mill“, a mill specialising in the creation of tweed, woollens and other renowned fabrics.
It is also worth noting that the village is known for its significant mining heritage: from 1720 to 1982, the valley was an important copper-mining site.
