Clochan na Carraige is an archaeological site dating from between the 5th and 10th centuries. These are dry-stone huts, laid out in such a way as to be sheltered from the rain and wind. Perfectly watertight, this hut is reminiscent of prehistoric constructions such as cairns.
It was built against the dry stone walls found throughout Ireland.
According to researchers, these huts served as a refuge for hermits. Nevertheless, the site is still full of questions and mysteries.
You can visit it for free: the show is well worth the detour!
