Enniscrone Cliffs Bath is a beachfront building on the Enniscrone promenade in County Sligo. Rather atypical, this white building resembles a strange castle, complete with towers and battlements. Built in 1850 by the Orme family, this château was actually used as a spa. Its proximity to the sea made it an ideal place to enjoy the benefits of fresh seawater, just a few meters away.

The “Enniscrone Cliffs Bath” building is an eye-catcher when you first see it. Its retro white, castle-like look, built right into the shoreline, almost seems to appear out of nowhere. It features crenellated walls, towers and a rock pool at the front of the castle.
This practical pool was once known as “Baby Rock”, because Irish mothers used it to bathe their infants, convinced of the beneficial effects of seawater on their offspring during hot spells.
The terms were used not only to refresh, but also to recharge one’s batteries and enjoy a moment of calm, in touch with nature.
An ideal building for a moment of relaxation and comfort for the time!
Today, the Enniscrone Cliffs Bath is no longer in use. It is, however, considered one of Enniscrone’s most curious tourist attractions!
