Glenariff Forest Park is a forest park in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Covering an area of 1185 hectares, it has become a veritable HQ for hikers in search of lush wilderness. There, the forest comes in 50 shades of green, in a calm only disturbed by birds and animals. It’s a magical place, where you can take a plunge away from civilization!
Glenariff Forest is packed with hiking trails for all levels. It offers signposted walks, which take you along specially laid-out paths to discover the forest in complete safety.
Among other things, these paths lead you to magnificent waterfalls, which you can overlook from the top of wooden balustrades.
You can also follow the trails along the Inver and Glenariff rivers. These are the most popular trails in the forest.
You can also admire the lush flora along the way. Many of the trees are over a hundred years old, and you’ll come across a wide variety of plant species along the way… Oaks, pines, ferns, mushrooms… The place is magical, as if isolated from the rest of the world.
For the walk, prefer real walking shoes, and take a backpack with water, sweater and windbreaker. Possibility of picnicking on site.
