A tour that starts on Gleniff Horseshoe Drive

To do the walk, you’ll need to take Gleniff Horseshoe Drive, a tarmac road accessible to cars and buses, which allows you to criss-cross the surrounding area and enjoy fabulous panoramas.

The walk stretches over 10km and can easily be completed in 2 hours on foot. The road requires only an average level of walking and has the advantage of being little used by vehicles. A perfect opportunity to enjoy the scenery in a natural, quiet setting!

A small river meanders along your route, and you can climb a few hills, a small bridge, admire the surrounding mountains, its forests, and of course, the authentic charm of the Irish moors. The views are spectacular, plunging you into a world far removed from civilization. Not to mention a crumbling old schoolhouse at the foot of the mountain: its sombre, solemn sight has a most romantic charm!

You can picnic as you go. And don’t miss a pretty waterfall along the way.

It’s a magical place, little-known to tourists, and has the merit of offering a delightful setting!
