A museum dedicated to Northern Ireland during the Second World War

If you love history and want to learn more about the past of Belfast and Northern Ireland as a whole, then the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum is for you!

You’ll be immersed in a historical atmosphere, with constitutions, period uniforms and objects on display, and interactive archive images. A modern venue that builds a real bridge with history, at a time when Northern Ireland, like the rest of the world, was living through times that were, to say the least, frightening and uncertain.

The museum deals with a traumatic episode in the life of Belfast: the Belfast Blitz of April and May 1941, a particularly difficult period in which the city suffered 4 German air raids. Belfast was savagely bombed, killing almost 900 people. It is estimated that over 1,500 people were injured…

The interesting museum also looks at the role of women in the war effort.

You’ll learn many little-known facts, which will give you a whole new perspective on Belfast.

A museum with free admission that’s sure to delight the whole family!
