Just off the Liffey is a building much loved by Dubliners: The O2. Considered the capital’s largest concert hall, it has been welcoming thousands of people every month since 2008 to attend concerts and other blockbuster shows.
The O2 building is brand new, and since 2008 has replaced the former concert hall on the same site (Point Theatre).
With a capacity of over 14,500, this concert hall is one of the largest in Ireland. Comfortable and equipped with all modern conveniences, The O2 is used to welcoming big names in national and international music.
But the honor of inaugurating the hall went to U2, who kicked off the hall’s very first show in 2008, much to the delight of Dubliners.
The venue offers a lively, eclectic program featuring artists of all styles and nationalities. The price of an average concert can vary from €30 to €80, and the seats are very comfortable. As for the acoustics, they’re pleasant: bass and treble sound good, thanks to the architecture of the hall itself.
