Trawbreaga Bay is a pretty Irish bay, just outside Fegart in County Donegal. Magnificent, it offers landscapes of rare authenticity, with sandy beaches, salt marshes and sublime water!
Trawbreaga Bay is a bay like no other. Very different from the other bays in Ireland, it has the particularity of having numerous sandbanks (which makes navigation at sea rather cottony!). These banks make for pretty seascapes: the water doesn’t always reach the shore, meandering along shallow passages in colors ranging from turquoise blue to bottle green.
Don’t hesitate to walk or drive along it: Trawbreaga Bay is well worth the detour, come rain or shine… An ideal place for a picnic, a break, a siesta, or even a swim (for the brave, of course!).
However, avoid dangerous passages, and don’t venture out onto the bay in heavy weather: it can be dangerous.
