In response to the coronavirus, many travelers are choosing to cancel their flights to tourist destinations. These decisions aim to curb the spread of COVID-19 and, combined with measures taken by the Irish government and other European countries, are gradually reducing airlines’ flight capacities.

Ryanair Updates Its Flight Rescheduling Policy

A Measure to Address Growing Customer Dissatisfaction

Faced with border closures and calls for lockdowns across European households, Ryanair has decided to relax its rules for flights scheduled between March and April.

Affected passengers received a clear email on the matter during the day: Ryanair wants to be understanding and offers greater flexibility to travelers unwilling to take their originally scheduled flights in the coming months.

We understand there is uncertainty at the moment, states Ryanair’s email to its customers.

In this situation, the airline is indeed waiving change fees for passengers wishing to postpone their trips. Previously, passengers had to pay up to €70 to “reschedule” a Ryanair flight.

This is a welcome gesture that should allow travelers to postpone their flights without paying any additional fees for the change. Only the fare difference will be charged to the customer.

This response should help ease the concerns of some dissatisfied customers.
