It’s official: we’ve arrived! Ireland is reopening to international travel starting today! With a valid health pass, the country will welcome travelers from Europe and around the world… all without mandatory quarantine! To mark the occasion, Dublin and Cork airports have rolled out the “green carpet” for their passengers and are expecting record crowds!

Travelers Can Finally Visit Ireland!

Local tourism can resume, provided travelers present a valid health pass

“Welcome back!” This message is displayed throughout Irish airports. It’s a warm invitation to travelers worldwide as Ireland lifts restrictions on non-essential international travel. Since this morning, terminals have been bustling: thousands of passengers are arriving to explore Ireland’s vast landscapes and enjoy the renowned Irish hospitality.

“Today is an incredibly exciting and long-awaited day as Ireland fully reopens for international travel,” said Irish airports in a joint statement released today. “We have patiently awaited the return of international travel, and it’s wonderful to see customers passing through our terminals again for leisure and business trips.”

This is a great opportunity for Ireland to revive its tourism sector, which has been on hold for a year and a half, and for Ireland lovers to embark on new adventures and discoveries.

It’s truly good news: there’s a palpable buzz of excitement at Irish airports among both travelers and staff. The atmosphere feels like a holiday, while health safety measures remain a priority.

A quick reminder: if you’re planning to travel, you’ll need to present a health pass to avoid mandatory quarantine.

This pass, which can be shown in paper or digital format, must prove one of the following:

  • The traveler has received their Covid-19 vaccination doses,
  • Or, the traveler has a negative PCR test taken within the last 72 hours,
  • Or, the traveler has recovered from Covid-19 within the past 9 months (considered immune).

Passengers are advised to check specific entry requirements for each country on the Irish government websites: www.gov.ie and www.DFA.ie, and to visit www.DublinAirport.com and www.CorkAirport.com before planning their trip.
