The actor who played the role of pure evil in the Game of Thrones...

Jack Gleeson is an Irish actor from Cork. Born in 1992, everyone remembers him as the terrible King Joffrey Baratheon from the Iron Throne series. As detestable in his role as he is talented in life, he is one of the great hopefuls of Irish cinema, and is already starting to conquer Hollywood!

Jack Gleeson’s career

An actor known for his atypical features

Originally from Cork, Jack Gleeson was fascinated by the art of acting from an early age. As a teenager, he was noticed in supporting roles such as Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

On television, he appeared in four episodes of the Irish series Killinaskully, created by comedian Pat Shortt.

But it was in July 2009 that everything changed for the actor, when he was cast as the terrible King Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones. It was an instant success: he played a king so execrable that he became one of the series’ greatest characters.

But Jack Gleeson has no intention of pursuing his acting career. He is also studying philosophy at Trinity College Dublin, but announced in 2012 that he wanted to devote himself to his studies, and give up his acting career.
