Galway Hooker is an Irish beer produced by the independent microbrewery “Galway Hooker Brewery”, based in Oranmore, County Galway. The company was founded by 2 cousins in 2006: Aidan Murphy and Ronan Brennan. Rather fine and tasty, Galway Hooker is a beer that should appeal to fans of refreshing beers!
Galway Hooker Irish Pale Ale is the flagship product of the eponymous brewery. Although it’s a blond beer, it can be quite confusing: on the palate, it combines the freshness of a blond with the caramelized roundness of a russet beer!
A strange but very pleasant combination that has won it numerous medals and awards since it was first produced!
It has to be said that the brewery uses the very best ingredients to brew its beers. This quality is immediately apparent from the first sip. The hops and malt used make for a rather pleasant beer, with an alcohol content of 4.3%.
Galway Hooker is available in many Irish pubs in Galway, Dublin, Cork and Roscommon. It’s served on draught, and well worth a visit if you’re looking for a change from traditional Irish beers produced on an industrial scale.
