In Dublin, an artwork can respond to rain, translate environmental data into sensations or question the place of artificial intelligence in our lives. The Beta Festival explores these intersections between art, technology and society through exhibitions, performances and discussions open to everyone’s curiosity.
The Beta Festival brings artists, researchers and audiences together in Dublin around digital change. Immersive installations, interactive artworks, talks and workshops explore technologies both as creative tools and as subjects for reflection.
The festival invites visitors to question their effects on the way we communicate, perceive the world and imagine the future. You do not need to be a specialist to find your place here: the appeal of the experience lies precisely in the meeting of different disciplines and perspectives.
For its 2026 edition, the festival looks at how technologies are changing our perceptions and our understanding of the environment. Artists explore, in particular, the connections between landscapes, plants, animals, humans and machines.
Among the announced events, the exhibition Unmasking Nature offers a sensory experience centred on Irish biodiversity. The project SEED: Signal and Trace, meanwhile, brings together several works that question how environmental data can be felt.
Clíona Harmey’s works include, for example, an installation that responds to rain and a camera recording a shadow over time. Other events combine performances, discussions and workshops. The programme may change: check each event before setting out.
The programme is spread across several venues in the capital, including the buildings of the Digital Hub, Project Arts Centre and IMMA Living Canvas. This variety allows you to create your own itinerary, depending on the works and times you choose.
Before your visit, check the official programme to confirm addresses, access arrangements and any booking requirements. You can also consult our Dublin guide to help plan your stay.
