The Milleens

Le Milleens - Dale Simonson - cc

For gourmets capable of anything to enjoy a good cheese! Milleens is one of the best Irish cheeses in the country! Produced since 1976 by Veronica Steele, this delicacy has quickly earned its letters of nobility! It is now one of the top cheeses produced in Ireland, and well worth a visit…

A taste of Milleens

Portrait of a cheese with character!

Milleens is officially the first Irish artisan cheese in the history of the Erin Green. This is a washed-rind cheese, with an orange to pink color. On the inside, the dough promises a soft, runny texture, fragrant with forest, mushrooms and herbs.

Flavours with a hint of spice, which go perfectly with crusty bread and a cold beer (Irish Pub culture obliges)!

It is still produced today by Veronica Steele, and is sold after 2 to 3 months’ maturing. Taste for yourself at the production site in County Cork!

Many Irish markets have them on their stalls. A delicious cheese that may surprise you!
