Economical, it is above all a rich bread, ideal for breakfast or a snack. It is usually eaten hot, sprinkled with powdered sugar or powdered sugar.

Recipe: Potatoe bread

Ingredients

  • 500 g peeled potatoes
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 cubes baker’s yeast
  • 100 g butter
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

  • Boil potatoes in a large saucepan until tender. Drain and leave to cool.
  • Mix the flour and ginger in a bowl, then add the potatoes, baking powder and butter.
  • Mix, then add sugar, eggs, salt and water.
  • You should obtain a soft, homogeneous paste.
  • Place in the bowl and cover with a clean cloth. Leave to rest for about 1h30.
  • At this point, the dough should have doubled in volume. Press out the air and leave to rest again for 1h30.
  • Place the dough in a buttered mold, and bake at 220°C for 40 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Enjoy your meal!
