The scene took place off the coast of Baltimore, County Cork, Ireland. A large pod of dolphins was spotted playing with the waves… much to the admiration and fascination of boaters. It was a rare spectacle, and one that was experienced as a highlight by those on hand.

When dolphins play in the waves…

Dozens of families rushed to witness the scene.

The dolphins were spotted late last Sunday. They were frolicking happily in the waters of Baltimore harbor, creating amusement among local residents.

Before long, dozens of boats – mainly families with children – decided to join the dolphins in their play. It’s a chance for them to get up close and personal with the mammals, and admire them at close quarters! And there were plenty of them: more than a dozen mammals were counted, a rare phenomenon!

Word spread, and eventually there were around ten boats, mainly families with children. Some sailed, those with motors turned them off or put them in neutral, and we drifted with the dolphins. This is the first time we’ve seen them in such numbers in Baltimore harbor. It looked like an end-of-summer show they’d been choreographing for weeks. said journalist Flor McCarthy, who was present at the scene.

In the video provided by the journalist, several dolphins can be seen jumping and playing with each other, while the atmosphere on the surrounding boats gives way to joy and wonder.
