Finally, it’s out! The film In the Heart of the Ocean has just hit cinemas! And this feature promises to be a great marine adventure! The latter is an adaptation of the story of Moby Dick, the famous 1850 novel about a whaling ship that was struck down by a 30-meter white whale.
The film is epic, grandiose and critically acclaimed! It also features a prestigious cast led by Chris Hemsworth, and 2 great Irish actors: Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy! Two renowned actors, for 2 tailor-made roles! Brendan Gleeson plays the role of a shipwreck survivor who, many years later, recounts the terrible story of the attack by this monstrous whale. As for Cillian Murphy, he plays a crew member close to the second-in-command. Quite likeable, he plays a strong-willed sea dog who never says no to camaraderie!
Both bring a real credibility to the film. It has to be said that Heart of the Ocean has all the ingredients for a great time! The marine atmosphere is palpable, the special effects work (the whale is impressive!), and the dialogue is quite believable! Add to that the presence of Chris Hemsworth, and you should have a great time! It’s enough to make you want to set off on an adventure aboard a vintage boat!
The only disappointment is that the release of Au cœur de l’océan coincides with that of the long-awaited Stars Wars (some of which were shot on Skellig Michael in Ireland)… Bad timing, which risks overshadowing this very good film!
