British rock is returning to one of Ireland’s most spectacular settings. Oasis have confirmed two concerts at Slane Castle on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2027. Liam and Noel Gallagher will return to the County Meath estate, eighteen years after the band last played Slane in 2009.
This is no ordinary additional date: Slane Castle is part of Irish music legend. Its natural amphitheatre in the Boyne Valley has hosted U2, Queen, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Metallica. Oasis’s return therefore looks set to become one of Europe’s major music events of 2027.
For fans, the first countdown has already begun. Access to the sale requires advance registration, which is open for a very limited time. Registering does not guarantee a ticket, but without registration, the door to the official ticket sale is all but closed.
When will Oasis play Slane Castle in 2027?
Two concerts scheduled for 4 and 5 September
Oasis will perform at Slane Castle on Saturday 4 September 2027, followed by Sunday 5 September 2027. Both dates form part of the Oasis Live ’27 world tour, organised following the success of the band’s return to the stage.
The tour is also due to visit Glasgow, Manchester, Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston and Las Vegas. It will conclude at Knebworth, another landmark venue in Oasis’s history. Slane nevertheless holds a particular place in the schedule: the Irish estate offers an open-air setting capable of accommodating tens of thousands of spectators on the slopes facing the stage.
Richard Ashcroft has been announced as a guest on the tour. Other artists may join the Irish bill, but no additional support act should be regarded as confirmed until it appears in official communications.
How can you buy tickets for Oasis at Slane Castle?
Registration required before 17 September 2026
The system is intended to limit ticket touting and an uncontrolled rush for tickets. Fans must first register on Oasis’s official platform before Thursday 17 September 2026 at 11am Irish time.
Some of those who register will then receive a personal code giving them access to a sales window. Tickets are due to go on sale between 25 and 27 September. A code provides access to the ticketing platform, but is neither a reservation nor a guarantee of availability. The stated limit is four tickets per person.
It is best to use only links provided by Oasis, Ticketmaster Ireland or the concert promoter. Offers appearing immediately on resale platforms may be far more expensive and do not always guarantee valid entry to the venue.
How much do tickets for Oasis at Slane cost?
Prices announced from €181.25 to €501.25
Prices announced for the Irish concerts start at €181.25 and can reach €501.25 for the most expensive categories. A service-fee cap of €10.50 has also been mentioned. The amount will depend on the location, ticket category and any services included with the ticket.
These prices clearly place the Slane concerts among the year’s major music events. Before paying, check what is actually included: some premium packages may offer a reserved area or specific benefits, without necessarily including a meet-and-greet with the artists.
The total budget will not be limited to the ticket. You will also need to factor in travel to County Meath, accommodation, meals and possibly an extra night to avoid getting back on the road immediately after the concert.
Why is a concert at Slane Castle so special?
A legendary stage in the Boyne Valley
Slane Castle overlooks the River Boyne in the heart of County Meath. For concerts, the stage is set below the castle, while the audience gathers on a natural slope. This layout offers unusual sightlines for an event of this scale and gives the venue its instantly recognisable atmosphere.
Slane’s major concerts are not held every year. Since the first edition in 1981, they have become events in their own right within Irish popular culture. U2 recorded part of the album The Unforgettable Fire there and played two concerts at the venue in 2001. Oasis also know the site: the band appeared on the Slane bill in 1995 before returning as headliners in 2009.
That history explains the excitement sparked by the announcement. At Slane, the venue matters almost as much as the band. Tickets provide entry to a concert, but also to a kind of life-sized rock pilgrimage, with an 18th-century castle as its backdrop.
How should you plan a trip to Ireland for the concerts?
Plan transport and accommodation before the sale
Slane lies around 50 kilometres north-west of Dublin. The village has neither a railway station nor enough hotel capacity to accommodate the crowd for a major concert on its own. Special transport arrangements, shuttle services and any parking facilities are to be detailed later by the organiser.
For accommodation, Dublin offers the widest choice, but prices can rise quickly during major events. Drogheda is closer to Slane, while Navan is another possible base in County Meath. In any case, it would be risky to book non-refundable accommodation before securing tickets.
Travellers from France should also keep an eye on flights to Dublin and ferry crossings. Arriving the day before the concert allows more leeway in the event of delays and offers time to discover the Boyne Valley, Newgrange or the village of Slane before the guitars take over.
Had Oasis played Slane Castle before?
From support act to headliner
Oasis first performed at Slane in 1995, at a concert headlined by R.E.M. The British band were then rapidly rising, just months before the release of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?.
The Gallagher brothers returned in 2009, this time as headliners. The concert took place only a few weeks before the band’s abrupt split in Paris. The 2027 return will therefore have the feel of a full circle moment: one of the bands most closely associated with the 1990s will return to a stage linked to two very different points in its history.
