On a panel of 5,000 respondents, the answer seems unanimous: the Irish accent is the sexiest in the world! A conclusion that made the Irish proud!
But where does the success of the Irish accent come from? The latter has even dethroned the behemoths of the genre, such as the Italian accent, known the world over for thrilling the crowds, and the French accent!
According to the panel of respondents, the Irish accent has above all conquered hearts thanks to Hollywood stars. Starting with Colin Farrell, a native Irishman who would have helped bring the Irish accent to the fore. But he wouldn’t be the only one! Liam Neeson, Michael Fassbender, Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy are also responsible for this success!
Ireland came in just ahead of Italy, while Scotland managed to climb to 3rd place on the podium.
The news is less positive for the United States, where the American accent ranks 10th among the sexiest accents.
