If you’re new to surfing in Ireland, you’ll need to take a few lessons before you’re ready to hit the waves. Training requires a number of qualities, including patience, calmness and a constant concern for safety.
It’s worth noting that many organizations offer surfing-oriented holidays. On the program, you’ll have the chance to learn the basics of surfing or simply perfect your skills with professionals who will guide you smoothly towards full mastery of your board.

Of course, you’ll need to like cold water: it’s rather chilly in winter and the temperature of marine waters can sometimes be a deterrent. Summer in Ireland doesn’t necessarily require a wetsuit, and surfers sometimes spend their day on the water in shorts. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a cap to prevent sunstroke!
