Ballycarbery

Ballycarbery is a town in County Kerry, Ireland. The area has the advantage of being close to the Ring of Kerry tourist trail, a 180km loop that allows you to explore the region’s wild treasures. And Ballycarbery is well worth a visit! The spot is best known for its ruined castle: Ballycarbery Castle, a building set in the middle of a field, surrounded by cows and sea shores. Simply superb.

A wild place, close to Caherciveen

Ballycarbery is a sparsely populated area. The area is often deserted, and much appreciated for its wilderness setting. It has to be said that the spot oscillates between greenery, coastline and fascinating ruins.

And all you have to do is visit his castle! The latter is located in a field facing the ocean. Overgrown and half-collapsed, it is a breathtaking sight. A place with a dark, fascinating atmosphere that will plunge you into the heart of authentic Ireland!

To round off your visit, don’t miss the Cahergal Stone Fort, a perfectly preserved prehistoric Irish fort dating from the 7th/18th centuries. The building boasts impressive dimensions: 27 metres in diameter, walls 5 metres thick, and heights ranging from 2 to 4 metres! A place that will take you back in time to the Irish Middle Ages!
