The Dun Briste
Ballycastle is a charming tourist village in County Mayo, Ireland. The village is renowned for the beauty of its coastal landscapes, with rugged terrain and a stunning, steep coastline.
Ballycastle is known for hosting countless archaeological remains. Among them, especially notable is Céide Fields, one of the largest Neolithic sites ever discovered in the world! It includes cairns, stone circles, and exceptional alignments!
Also, among other must-see sites is Downpatrick Head, a peninsula of breathtaking beauty! During your walk there, you will notice a huge piece of cliff that has broken away from the main formation: it is now a few meters offshore and is called Dun Briste. A true attraction for travelers!
