For water sports enthusiasts, surfing and sea kayaking are popular in the area, with several local schools offering courses for beginners and advanced.
Finally, you can fish from the shore. Fishing is permitted on the beach, but it’s important to observe the rules in force.
The Allihies region is rich in biodiversity. If you’re lucky, on a stroll along the beach or a hike in the surrounding hills, you may spot seals playing in the waves or birds such as shearwaters and egrets. Coastal vegetation, adapted to the marine climate, is also a distinctive feature of the region.
