Brandon Point is one of the highest peaks in Ireland. It’s an ideal location for birdwatching and marine life observation on the Dingle Peninsula. The views are breathtaking, and you can enjoy total immersion in the local Irish flora and fauna! A chance to take a good “bol d’Eire”!
Brandon Point is located on the mountain of the same name (Brandon Mountain), at an altitude of over 950 meters. Access is by car, and you can park in a special parking lot for visitors.
Once on foot, the view is breathtaking, overlooking the sea and its coastline with its beaches and bays. Expect a festival of almost fluorescent colors, so intense are the blues and greens! Don’t hesitate to follow their hiking trails: there are several of them, and all require proper hiking equipment, but the effort is well worth it! You’ll come across some absolutely fabulous views, where nature seems to reign supreme!
There’s also a small concrete hut that serves as a birdwatching HQ: the perfect place to stand and watch for puffins and other flying marine specimens. Don’t hesitate to take your camera with you: it’s the ideal place to do so, whatever your level! You’ll just have to be patient, and take lots of pictures!
