Coumshingaun Lough is an Irish lake in County Waterford. Set in a mountain cirque in the Comeragh Mountains, it’s one of the most beautiful lakes in Ireland. Surrounded by rock and mountains, its deep, mysterious oval-shaped waters are a real reward for hikers who come to discover it. The view is spectacular, and well worth the walk to discover it!

You’ll need to explore the magnificent Comeragh Mountains, an imposing mountain range, to reach Lake Coumshingaun.
It’s lost in the middle of a mountain range, and you’ll need to embark on a rather physical hike to overlook the lake. (Warning: only experienced hikers will be able to reach the panoramic viewpoint. Be careful and don’t take any unnecessary risks. Avoid leaning over the edge of the road, where the mountain plunges into the void).
The difference in altitude is considerable and requires good hiking equipment to progress easily.
Once up there, the reward is unforgettable. The view is exceptional on a clear day: you can admire the lake below, encircled by the majestic Comeragh Mountains, all greenery and sheer rock.
A breathtaking, vertiginous spectacle to immortalize with a few photos!
