The George’s Street Arcade is a kind of shopping mall / covered market. A unique Dublin venue unlike any other.

Open since 1881, (originally as South City Markets), the venue is still in business today. It’s the perfect place to hunt for bargains, go shopping and find that original souvenir to bring back from your exploration of Dublin!

Here, small and large stores rub shoulders… From Dunnes Stores to small stalls selling everything from haute couture and accessories to funky, trendy clothes, from custom sterling silver to costume jewelry, from hairdressing to clairvoyance…

Not to mention shops that cater to lovers of music, art, books, specialty ornaments, souvenirs, stamps and coin collections, cafés, general groceries and specialty foods.

Here, you can also taste the best Irish pies, as well as delicious fudges, smoothies and other 100% Irish regional products. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal while strolling through the stalls and stores!

As you can see, George’s Street Arcade is a very special place, with vendors of all kinds. That’s what makes it so charming!

The atmosphere here is great: it’s bustling with people, the vendors are friendly and make an effort to accommodate foreigners… The youth of Dublin strolls here, as do older Dublins…

All this in a warm and friendly setting, conducive to human contact. You’ll discover products of all kinds, and taste unsuspected culinary marvels… In short, this market is an opportunity to immerse yourself in an exciting multi-cultural universe. Deeply Irish and open to the world and other cultures around the globe.
